HL Deb 07 November 1996 vol 575 c72WA
Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether as reported in Morning Star on 13th September 1996, a cargo of plutonium to be reprocessed at Dounreay overflew London in a type B container (which can withstand a fall of about 30 ft.) and, if so, whether they have taken action to ensure that this does not recur.

Baroness Miller of Hendon

A shipment of unirradiated nuclear fuel destined for Dounreay was delivered to the UK by air on 12th September. This did not overfly London.
