§ Mr. ClappisonThe primary instruments of the European Union to protect endangered species and their habitats, are directives 79/409 EEC and 92/43/EEC. Member states are obliged to transpose the provisions of these directives into national law and to take practical measures to meet their obligations for the conservation of listed species and their habitats.
