The relevant figures for trunk roads are as follows:
(a) all-purpose dual carriageway trunk roads
- England: under 31 miles of the programme for installing central reservation safety fencing remains to be carried out
- Wales: 15 miles has no safety fencing
- Scotland: 43 miles has no safety fencing
- Northern Ireland: 74 miles has no safety fencing
(b) trunk motorways
- All trunk motorways have central reserve safety fencing apart from about a mile in Scotland
