Information on the number of children admitted to registered private mental hospitals and nursing homes is not recorded centrally. The number of children detained for psychiatric care under the Mental Health Act 1983 and other provisions is not identifiable separately in the information available centrally.

§ Mr. BowisThis information is not held centrally. Such grounds are not part of the criteria in sections 72 and 73 of the Mental Health Act 1983 but discharge can be delayed until a care plan under the care programme approach is in place.
