HC Deb 09 May 1996 vol 277 c241W
Sir Cranley Onslow

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what research he has evaluated about the danger of acidification of the head waters of Welsh rivers as a result of emissions from power stations in(a) Pembrokeshire and (b) elsewhere. [27919]

Mr. Gwilym Jones

A report commissioned by the Welsh Office entitled "A Review of the Impact of Current and Future Acid Deposition in Wales" was completed in February 1993. I have arranged for a copy to be placed in the Library of the House. This review has led to a survey of acidification in rivers and lakes which is under way: it is planned to publish the results in 1997.
