Mr. Pawsey

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many students there are from ethnic minority groups in higher education; and what was the figure in 1979 and 1989. [28090]

Mr. Forth

Information on the ethnicity of higher education students in 1979–80 and 1989–90 was not collected centrally. Information for 1995–96 is as follows:
