HC Deb 25 March 1996 vol 274 cc411-2W
Mr. Chris Davies

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what entitlements to paid leave for(a) part-time employees and (b) full-time employees are specified within the working time directive. [22267]

Mr. John M. Taylor

The directive specifies that every worker should be entitled to paid annual leave of the least four weeks a year in accordance with conditions for entitlement laid down by national legislation or practice. Member states may reduce this to three weeks for a transitional period of three years. The directive does not distinguish between part-time and full-time employees.
