To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pursuant to his answer of 29 April,Official Report, column 412, when the temporary derogations expire for the 160 slaughterhouses yet to meet the requirements of the Fresh Meat (Hygiene Inspection) Regulations 1992. [27875]

Under the Fresh Meat (Hygiene and Inspection) Regulations 1995, which replaced the 1992 Regulations, the temporary derogations expired on 31 December 1995 for 136 slaughterhouses. The remaining 24 premises were granted extensions to their temporary derogations of between one and 12 months.
