To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list those examination subjects at(a) standard grade, (b) higher grade and (c) certificate of sixth year studies in which the pre-testing of questions by the Scottish Examination Board has been discontinued since 1992. [37870]

There are no subjects in which pre-testing of examinations has been discontinued since 1992. For operational reasons higher English interpretation was not pre-tested in 1996. Pre-testing will take place as usual in 1997.
