§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 18 July 1996]: The Scottish Law Commission was set up by the Law Commissions Act 1965. My noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate has an obligation under the 1965 Act to lay before Parliament any proposals for reform formulated by the Scottish Law Commission. The commission is required by the Act to make an annual report to the Lord Advocate which he likewise must lay before Parliament. The commission's reports on law reform and its annual reports are published and are available from HMSO.
