§ Mr. HanleyWe believe that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is in the best position to monitor the situation. We continue to encourage the Governments of Nepal and Bhutan to resolve the underlying problems through bilateral negotiation. We have contributed over £475,000 through non-governmental organisations over the past three years to support the refugees in Nepal.

§ Mr. HanleyThe Appeal Movement Co-ordination Council full committee called on the British embassy in Kathmandu on 7 May. It provides us regularly with reports of its activities in Nepal and India.
