The Department has considered all claims made under the Government buy-in scheme for weapons which became prohibited by virtue of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 and has advised the claimants of the outcome. Offers have been made to all claimants entitled to receive compensation.

§ Mr. MacleanThe Home Office does not issue guidance on firearms administration to either the Association of Chief Police Officers for England and Wales or to the Association of Chief Police Officers for 311W Scotland. An index of correspondence and letters of consultation with these two organisations does not exist and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
