To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment he has made of the desirability of a merger of British and American projects to meet a requirement for a conventionally armed stand-off missile. [11321]

There have been discussions with several countries with a similar requirement to our own for a conventionally armed stand-off missile to assess the potential for co-operation. The outcome of these discussions will be taken into account during our assessment.
