§ Mr. HanleyAll expenditure from the ODA to non-governmental organisations, NGOs, is provided on a grant basis. The sum of all grants for 1994–95 made by the Overseas Development Administration to United Kingdom NGOs for work in developing countries was £173,124,136, as detailed in the table. The comparable figure in 1992–93 was £141,791,127. in 1993–94 it was £148,610,155.
358WIn addition, we made grants to United Kingdom NGOs for work in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union—in 1994–95 amounting to £11,989,655. The comparable figure in 1992–93 was £5,634,899; in 1993–94 it was £9,839,600.
United Kingdom NGOs also draw substantially on European Community aid programmes to which we contribute.
