HC Deb 09 January 1996 vol 269 c46W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what steps he is proposing to reduce those delays at public inquiries on transport matters caused by the obligation for the inspector to hear every person or group who wishes to make representations on a scheme. [7626]

Mr. Watts

None. The relevant rules give certain parties the right to appear at an inquiry. The inspector may permit others to appear, and the rules provide that such permission should not be unreasonably withheld.
