§ Mr. MacLeanThe legislation and regulations governing the use of capital receipts by local and police authorities in England and Wales are matters for my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretary of State for Wales.
The proportion of capital receipts required to be set aside for debt redemption by police authorities is contained within the Local Authorities (Capital Finance) Regulations 1990, as amended. The Government keep these regulations under review.
