To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many people have(a) become crippled and (b) died from taking the steroid Prednisolone in Scotland in each of the last five years; and if he will make a statement. [9639]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton: Information is not held centrally on the number of people crippled from taking the steroid Prednisolone in Scotland.

There have been no deaths in Scotland in the last five years where the steroid Prednisolone has been mentioned on the death certificate.
