HC Deb 17 December 1996 vol 287 c576W
Mr. Martyn Jones

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what provisions other than the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 provide for the decontamination of vehicles used to transport mammalian meat and bone meal from potentially BSE-infected cattle; and if he will make a statement. [7947]

Mrs. Browning

Regulation 14 of the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Order 1996 requires any vehicle used to transport mammalian meat and bone meal, or material containing mammalian meat and bone meal, to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected as soon as possible after the transport ceases and in any event before the vehicle is used for any other purpose.
