HC Deb 02 December 1996 vol 286 c469W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department which(a) Minister, (b) officials from his Department and (c) officials from the integrated Government office in Leeds (1) gave and (2) were invited to give (i) oral and (ii) written evidence to the Bradford commission; and if he will make a statement. [6693]

Mr. Kirkhope

No Minister, and no official from the Government office for Yorkshire and the Humber, gave evidence or was invited to do so. One official from the Home Office who was present in Bradford at the relevant time submitted written evidence based on her observations.

Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the contents of the Bradford commission report published on 20 November.[6714]

Mr. Kirkhope

The report raises a number of important issues. As expected, most of these are for the consideration of the authorities in Bradford who are concerned with the development of policy and the delivery of services, but all those involved in the promotion of good community relations will wish to note the contents.
