The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the closure of wings at Liverpool prison.293WLiverpool's H Wing closed on Saturday 23 March 1996 and is awaiting major refurbishment, including the provision of integral sanitation. All other wings at Liverpool have been refurbished and include such sanitation. There is no slopping out at Liverpool or at any other establishment in England and Wales.
