§ Mr. NorrisA joint working group which includes officials from the Department of Transport and the Lord Chancellor's Department is currently examining arrangements which would provide for the transfer of information about penalties and convictions for operators of heavy goods and passenger vehicles to be passed from the magistrates courts to the traffic area offices.
Experience gained from the manual trial of transfer of information between Gwent magistrates court and South Wales traffic area office will be taken into account in the recommendations of the joint working group.
