HC Deb 16 April 1996 vol 275 cc484-5W
Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 2 April, at column190, how many people have been removed from waiting lists by region in each quarter since 1992. [25241]

Mr. Horam

The table shows for each region, the special health authorities and England as a whole, the number of removals from waiting lists and—for England as a whole—the total number of decisions made to add patients to waiting lists in each quarter since 1992. Patients may be removed from waiting lists because they have already been treated, because treatment is no longer needed or because they have moved.

Region June 1994 September 1994 December 1994 March 1995 June 1995 September 1995 December 1995

Rev. Martin Symth

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the average length of the waiting lists for cardiac surgery in hospitals. [24184]

Mr. Horam

Information on numbers of people waiting for treatment by specialty and by national health service trust is contained in "Hospital Waiting List Statistics: England", copies of which are available in the Library.
