Dr. Lynne Jones

[24422]

Mr. Roger Evans

The information is not available in the format requested. In the four weeks beginning 4 March, the Benefits Agency was notified by the Home Office of 702 negative decisions on asylum status involving social security benefit claims.

Ms Glenda Jackson

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security who will be responsible for the funding of free school meals to the children of asylum seekers who would hitherto have qualified for means-tested state benefits. [24977]

Mr. Evans

Free school meals remain available only to those pupils whose parents are in receipt of income support.
