To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he will announce his final decision on the reorganisation of the National Blood Service; and if he will make a statement. [38226]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State will announce the decision as soon as possible. We need to be fully satisfied that any proposals that are adopted set the right direction for the future development of the National Blood Service.
