HC Deb 31 October 1995 vol 265 c199W
17. Mr. Robert Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what progress is being made on implementing London initiative zone projects in the north Thames region. [38228]

Mr. Malone

Since the London initiative zone was set up in 1993, an additional £124 million has been invested in developing primary care services through LIZ projects in north London. A substantial six-year programme is now under way to improve general practitioner surgeries and health centres, to increase the number of staff, and to provide better services for local people.
