HC Deb 30 October 1995 vol 265 c27W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the current status of the US-UK air talks; and if he will make a statement. [40309]

Mr. Norris

Despite concessions offered by the United Kingdom Government, the US Government formally broke off talks on UK-US air services on 20 October. The talks covered a package of new measures designed to increase opportunities for air travellers, shippers and airlines. We stand ready to resume talks as soon as the US Government are ready to do so.
