To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the current level of unemployment in(a) Wales and (b) the United Kingdom. [37844]

In September 1995, the seasonally adjusted number of persons on the claimant count in Wales was 106,300 or 8.2 per cent. of the work force. Corresponding figures for the United Kingdom were 2,265,100 and 8.1 per cent.
