§ Mr. SproatThere are currently 16 NVQs available in sport. The Sports Council is working closely with sports governing bodies on an on-going programme to implement NVQs in sports where they do not already exist. The awarding bodies for NVQs in coaching are: City and Guilds, Royal Society of Arts and the Business and Technology Education Council. The National Council for Vocational Qualifications, along with the Department 51W for Education and Employment, has responsibility for the administration of NVQs, but as Minister for Sport I take a keen interest in the development of NVQs in sport.
