To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what the(a) daily attendance allowance and (b) subsistence allowance for (i) more than four, but less than eight hours, (ii) more than eight, but less than 24 hours, (iii) 24 hours within the United Kingdom, but outside London, (iv) 24 hours in London and (v) approved overseas travel for elected members of Scottish local authorities would be had these kept pace with inflation since 1974 and expressed in real terms at current prices: what would be the annual attendance allowance, excluding subsistence, of an elected member of a Scottish local authority who was eligible to claim a daily attendance allowance for an average of (I) one, (II) two, (III) three, (IV) four, (V) five, (VI) six and (VII) seven official duties per week on different days assuming that the system of payment had remained unchanged since 1974 and based on current prices in real terms.
