To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with aid agencies regarding the 1996–97 overseas aid budget. [37871]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has not had any recent formal discussions with aid agencies, but my right hon. and noble Friend Baroness Chalker has regular meetings with non-governmental organisations, to which she attaches high priority and at which all aspects of ODA policies are discussed.
