HC Deb 30 October 1995 vol 265 c114W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what procedures will be put in place prior to the general election to ensure that those entitled to postal and proxy votes are made aware of their rights as soon as possible by means of public advertising; and if he will make a statement. [39169]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Arrangements have yet to be finalised for absent voting publicity, but it is proposed, following past practice, to advertise in all the Scottish national daily and Sunday newspapers, and to provide leaflets for the general public through various suitable outlets.
