To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many applications for the ILF were outstanding on 1 September; and how many of these had been outstanding for more than six months. [38110]

The information requested is not available in the format requested and can be provided only at disproportionate cost. I am informed by the director of the independent living funds that there are currently 455 applications to the independent living (1993) fund outstanding where no decision has been made. Nine of these have been waiting for more than six months.
