§ Mr. KirkhopeInformation on asylum applications and appeals from 1992 to 1995 is given in the table. The number of outstanding applications for asylum as at 31 August 1995 was 62,900. The number of decisions on asylum applications in the last six months—April to September 1995—was 10,600. A total of 1,465 persons who had been refused asylum were removed during January to August 1995. This figure includes those who had departed voluntarily during this time.
