What measures they have taken to improve the readiness of specialist shipping to transport heavy military equipment and vehicles.

Earl Howe:

The Ministry of Defence is currently examining a range of options, including charter, lease and purchase, to improve the access to specialist shipping for deployment use. This work is taking into account the feasibility of co-operative action with our NATO allies, and private sector involvement.
