HC Deb 29 November 1995 vol 267 c703W
Mr. Hood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the names of individuals who have been appointed to non-departmental public bodies serving and working within Lanarkshire indicating their political party affiliations, if known. [2953]

Mr. Michael Forsyth

[holding answer 28 November 1995]: This information is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. Non-departmental public bodies in Scotland are listed in the annual Cabinet Office publication, "Public Bodies", which includes the addresses of all executive non-departmental public bodies. The hon. Member may wish to approach these bodies direct for the information he seeks. As a general rule, political affiliation is not a criterion for appointment to public bodies and, except where this information is volunteered by the appointee, it is not made a matter for record.

Mr. Hood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total expenditure on non-departmental public bodies in Scotland. [2954]

Mr. Michael Forsyth
