To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the Acts of Parliament and Consolidation Acts that affect local government that have been introduced by his Department since January 1994. [38]

This Department has introduced no such Acts since January 1994. The following Orders in Council under the Northern Ireland Act 1974, which equate to primary legislation for Northern Ireland during direct rule, have been made in that period and affect local government—

  • The Airports (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 (management of local airports);
  • The Litter (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 (litter control powers);
  • The Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 (rating);
  • The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 (miscellaneous amendments to local government law).
