To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what has been the value, at current prices, of inward investment to Wales in the last five years. [1400]

The forecast capital investment by inward investment projects into Wales from overseas and elsewhere in the United Kingdom over the last five years has been £585 million in 1990–91; £1.1 billion in 1991–92; £949 million in 1992–93; £765 million in 1993–94; and £921 million in 1994–95. These figures are based upon information provided by companies at the time of the decision to invest and take no account of any subsequent decisions.
