Mr. Rooney

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what are the results of the youth training skillseekers leavers survey for the period April 1994 to December 1994, for each local enterprise company area and for Scotland as a whole, broken down to show the number and proportion of leavers who were(a) in full-time work with the same employer, (b) in full-time work with a different employer, (c) in part-time work, (d) on a full-time course at a college or training centre, (e) on another YT scheme, (f) doing something else, (g) who were unemployed and (h) who had obtained a vocational qualification; and what was (i) the number of questionnaires issued, (ii) the usable percentage response rate and (iii) the percentage of respondents who were early leavers and the reasons stated for leaving training early; and if he will make a statement; [41995]

(2) if he will set out, according to the results from the youth training/skillseekers leavers survey, the number and level of Scottish vocational qualifications or credits towards SVQs or other qualifications gained by people leaving training in the period April 1994 to December 1994, for Scotland as a whole, for all leavers and by ethnic group, disability and gender showing male, female and all; and if he will make a statement; [41921]

(3) if he will set out according to the results from the training for work leavers survey, the number and level of SVQs or credits towards SVQs or other qualifications gained by people leaving training for work in the period April 1994 to December 1994, for Scotland as a whole for all leavers and by ethnic group, disability and gender showing male, female and all; and if he will make a statement. [holding answer 7 November 1995]: In Scotland, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise are responsible for training for work and youth training leavers follow-up surveys within their respective areas. I have asked the chairmen of the bodies to write to the hon. Member with the figures for each local enterprise company where requested and totals for their networks.
