§ Mr. WattsThe funds were awarded to project costs incurred in 1995 as a whole, and not to any particular phase of the west coast main line scheme. Most of the relevant work in 1995 will be on feasibility studies, including the examination of the use of an in-cab control system and running high-speed trains and physical works to allow the running of European passenger services as far as Glasgow.
