HC Deb 07 November 1995 vol 265 cc746-7W
Mrs. Roche

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money has been allocated to TECs for training from the single regeneration budget for 1995–96. [42008]

Sir Paul Beresford

Planned expenditure by training and enterprise councils on continuing programmes which now form part of the single regeneration budget is £40 million in 1995–96. In addition, there are 45 schemes which were successful under round one of the SRB challenge fund where a TEC is receiving funding as the accountable body on behalf of the SRB partnership concerned. Planned expenditure in 1995–96 on these schemes is £22 million. It is not possible to identify how much of the total of £62 million, expected to be paid to TECs from the single regeneration budget in the current year, will be specifically for training activities. TECs may also be receiving indirect funding from the SRB challenge fund where they are members of SRB partnerships but not the nominated accountable body.
