§ Mr. MaloneNo list of approved treatments exists. Health authorities and general practitioner fundholders are responsible for assessing the needs of the people they serve and deciding what treatments and services are required to meet those needs, within the framework of national priorities. Decisions about individual treatments are a matter for the individual clinician together with the patient, based on an assessment of clinical need, and taking account of available evidence of effectiveness.
