To ask the Secretary of State for Health when she intends to publish the statement of responsibilities and accountabilities foreshadowed in the document published in October 1993 on changes in the NHS, "Managing the new NHS". [26435]

The statement of responsibilities and accountabilities is being published today. It explains how the Government's responsibilities for health and social care in England are discharged by the Department of Health and the national health service, and the lines of accountability within both organisations to the Secretary of State and to Parliament. Copies of the statement will be placed in the Library.
