§ Mrs. FyfeTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what criteria he uses to establish which bodies should be consulted on educational matters. [25589]
§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 22 May 1995]: Consultees are selected from lists held by the Scottish Office Education Department of organisations which may have an interest in educational matters. As account is taken of the relevance of each subject to particular bodies, all the organisations listed do not necessarily receive all consultation papers as a matter of course. The aim, however, is always to include the widest appropriate range of interests in any consultation exercise.
