HC Deb 22 May 1995 vol 260 c417W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what assessment she has made of which drug education programmes in the United Kingdom or elsewhere have resulted in a reduction in drug use. [25174]

Mr. Forth

My right hon. Friend took into account available research evidence when planning the Department's initiatives to support drug education in schools. The innovative drug education and prevention projects supported under the Department's grants for education support and training programme in 1995–96 will be evaluated. At my right hon. Friend's request, the Office for Standards in Education will undertake a specific study of provision for drug education in schools during the academic year 1995–96 in the light of existing research findings on effective drug education.
