§ Mr. BoswellMy right hon. Friend provides grant to the Higher Education Funding Council for England to support research in universities. The council is allocating some £10 million in 1994–95 and £20 million in 1995–96 to reward co-operation between universities and industry on generic research that may lead to a range of applications. This includes biotechnology research.
