HC Deb 15 May 1995 vol 260 cc3-4W
46. Dr. Spink

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what is the total number of appeals awaiting processing by the immigration appeals office. [22514]

Mr. John M. Taylor

As at 31 March 1995, there were approximately 13,500 appeals waiting to be heard. In about 25 per cent. of these cases, the immigration appellate authorities were awaiting an indication from the parties that they were ready to proceed before being able to list them.
