§ Mr. RichardsThe Government are considering transferring responsibility for grant-aiding the four major Welsh language non-statutory organisations—the Welsh Books Council; the Welsh nursery schools movement, Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin; the National Eisteddfod; and the Welsh youth movement, Urdd Gobaith Cymru—from the Welsh Office to the Welsh Language Board. A consultative paper seeking the views of the four organisations and other interested parties is being issued today with comments invited by 7 July. A copy has been placed in the Libraries of the House.
