HC Deb 04 May 1995 vol 259 cc272-3W
Mrs. Beckett

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will make a statement on the planned increase in charges and receipts from the figure given in the estimated outturn for 1994–95 to that cited in plans for 1995–96 NHS current and capital expenditure. [21755]

Mr. Sackville

The Government's expenditure plans, published in the departmental report, Cm 2812, show that total national health service income from charges and receipts is expected to be £1,470 million in 1995–96, comparable to 1993–94 outturn of £1,466 million. This is some £230 million more than the forecast outturn for 1994–95, although this is subject to revision at outturn—for example, to reflect late recording of some receipts.
