To ask the Secretary of State for Education how much was spent on official hospitality by her Department in 1994–95. [21206]

Provisional outturn expenditure for 1994–95 on official hospitality is £75,000 for the Department and £1,000 for the Teachers' Pension Agency, giving a total of £76,000.

The cost of official hospitality is included in the running cost expenditure for the Department which is published every year in the departmental report. Official hospitality includes the costs of teas and coffees, buffet lunches and dinners.
