asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make public all the information available to them concerning the implementation in other member states of the European Union laws forbidding sex discrimination in the armed services.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Lord Henley):

The implementation of EC legislation is a matter for individual member states, and my department therefore does not keep a central record of such information.
